Indexical is a photoblog by Matthew Hollett, a visual artist, web designer, and art educator in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. I recently lived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and many photos are from there.

This blog is a photographic sketchbook, where I work through photo ideas. Most photos are fresh from the camera, though I sometimes post a few days at once, and I occasionally slip in older work. I shoot mostly with a Canon 500D, sometimes a PowerShot a720, Holga, or other cameras, and will probably dig out my Yashica-mat one of these days.

I maintained a previous photoblog, non*glossy, for about three years from 2003–2006. Finding something new to post each day is challenging – it keeps me constantly trying to see my surroundings in new ways. It also means that I spend a lot of time walking, which invariably results in good ideas happening.
